The Taylor Swift Eras tour concert film was amazing from start to finish. The show had a high budget and didn’t feel like a standard concert due to the numerous sets, acting, dancing, props, and more. Taylor wowed the audience and was full of energy from start to finish. The show covered numerous Taylor Swift albums, so expect lots of songs. Each album would feel like different chapters as the sets, outfits, and settings would change. Taylor’s outfits changed drastically while performing, from normal tops to boots and high heels, bright sparkly shiny skirts and dresses; other times she wore something dark or more serious, like a white dress. This fits well with the songs she performed. The projection on the stage felt 3D at some points, and one part I enjoyed seeing was a giant snake going around the stage and venue. Taylor not only has an amazing, beautiful voice, but she also plays instruments and is extremely talented at acting. I enjoyed seeing Taylor perform and dance; throughout the show, she would sometimes just act or interact with props without singing to make it feel more like you were watching a music video scene or at the theatre. Her backup dancers were also good and would act to fit with the song and create a story through dance.
I enjoyed watching this concert film, but I would have liked Taylor to talk a bit more throughout and wish the movie hadn’t cut out lots of songs. I also thought we would get more behind-the-scenes footage that wasn’t just in the credits. This could be on the deleted scenes if it comes out on DVD. The crowd I saw it with was respectful, they danced in their seats, sang but not loudly and didn’t scream or jump in front of the screen. This made the viewing experience more enjoyable. Taylor gives a nonstop energetic performance and never runs out of energy from start to finish. Concert films are a great way for people to see concerts who can’t get to or afford tickets to the actual event. Due to Taylor’s success, hopefully more artists will start filming their shows. If you’re a fan of Taylor Swift, I would suggest going, and even if you don’t know much about her music, I still think you would enjoy this film!
