After “Sonic The Hedgehog” was released in 2020, there was a surprisingly positive response from audiences, and this explosion of a trailer seems to promise a movie leaning into the aspects that worked for that audience the first time around. Starring returning chast James Marsden as “Tom”,” Ben Schwartz as “Sonic,” and Jim Carrey as “Dr. Robotnik,” while welcoming Colleen O’ Shaughnessey as “Tails,” and Idris Elba as “Knuckles,” it looks like a fun night at a theater:

Directed by returning director Jeff Fowler, written by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington, Paramount will release this in theaters nationwide on April 8th, 2022.
