Paramount has released third official trailer for this origin story that focuses more on the dramatic tones to expect rather than the action spectacle. It’s exciting seeing faces like Iko Uwais (“The Raid”) and Samara Weaving (“Ready or Not,” “Guns Akimbo”) and seeing blockbusters putting attention into cinematography for action, but I for one will be checking out as I compare this to a roster of origin stories it will inevitably retread.

Directed by Robert Schwentke, with a screenplay by Evan Spiliotopoulos, Anna Waterhouse and Joe Sharpnel, Paramount will release this in theaters nationwide starting July 23rd, 2021.
