Indie comedies are often met with a mixed reception. Nonetheless, I’m happy to promote what seems to be a harmless, humorous feature centered around Jake Johnson having to complete “tasks” assigned by his late mother in order to receive the cabin she’s left for him. For anyone who likes stories centered on cabins, lake-side or otherwise, this feels like a setting usually reserved for horrors but finally designed to bring the comfort that setting can offer.

Take a look:

‘Ride the Eagle’ is the first feature from Trent O’Donnell. It stars Susan Sarandon, Jake Johnson, J.K. SimmonsD’Arcy CardenCleo King, & Eric Edelstein, with a screenplay from Trent O’Donnell and Jake Johnson. Plans are for it to be released in select US theaters + on VOD starting July 30th, 2021.
