I’m going to try to focus on implications from/connections with ‘Loki’ to avoid imploding over hearing some of the last new words from Chadwick Boseman to be released through film/television. Everything in Marvel Phase 4 has been branching into the multiverse, and Disney and Kevin Feige are taking a leap into animation to introduce elements that may reflect on the already established “canonical” timeline.

‘Loki’ has brought the MCU to scale by dwarfing the power and macguffin(s) that brought this universe together, then reestablished a larger story in time and space that is heading into the larger consequences of godlike heroes while still delving into the minutia of the impact of actions and choices on individual characters. This seems to forward that creative energy and begin to shape the world containing all these characters.

Even if the stories themselves are the same opportunity as the comics released, there’s familiarity and plenty of surprises to digest for fans. Take a look:

From YouTube: “Enter the multiverse of unlimited possibilities. Marvel Studios’ first animated series, What If…?, starts streaming August 11 with new episodes Wednesdays on Disney+.”
