The Valero Verdict: Fantasy Island

Welcome to another edition of the “The Valero Verdict” movie review. In this I will give you a quick movie review with a couple of bullet points of which I either liked or disliked. I will end the review with rating of the movie and a short overall thoughts.

On the docket today, the movie based on the 70’s TV show, Fantasy Island.

Plot: A horror adaptation of the popular ’70s TV show about a magical island resort.

I first have to admit something, I was waving the Fantasy Island flag and died on a hill for this movie. I was convinced this would be a surprise hit. I even stood my ground with my buddy Erick Weber and told him he was NUTS to think it wasn’t going to make over 15 million dollars opening weekend.

This is me apologizing to him and admitting I WAS WRONG.

At one point a line came across “We’re not throwing in the towel yet.” I wish I would’ve thrown in the towel about 20 minutes in.

The movie was terrible.
The script was bad.
The direction was bad.
The twist was dumb.
The acting was bad.
The accents were bad.
Yang/Hansen was the only decent thing about this film and even half their jokes missed.

The Verdict:

1/2 * out of ***** gavels

The trailer gave me so much hope and it just was a big let down.

The movie just kept going on and on and on and on with no ending in sight. It was truly hilarious to watch the film get even worse as the movie progressed.

My one fantasy I wish I could make come true is going back in and reliving never have seen this movie.

Should You See It?: Go See Parasite. Please. DON’T GIVE THIS MOVIE MONEY.
