New York and Los Angeles, December 18, 2025 — Today, Filmhub, a leading worldwide film and TV distribution company, debuted the official trailer for “BALANCE: A Perimenopause Journey,” a four-part documentary series directed by monk-filmmakers Sadhvi Siddhali Shree and Sadhvi Anubhuti and executive produced by Alyssa Milano and Jeannie Mai. This powerful series, which confronts the global health crisis of perimenopause, will be released as a TVOD title and be available to rent and purchase on major digital platforms, including Amazon Prime Video & Apple TV, beginning Friday, January 30, 2026.
“BALANCE” follows Siddhali and Anubhuti as they explore one of the most universal, yet least discussed, transitions in a woman’s life: perimenopause. As the filmmakers begin experiencing their own symptoms, they uncover how silence, stigma, and widespread misinformation have left generations of women suffering in the dark. Through intimate storytelling, expert perspectives, and deeply personal revelations, “BALANCE” exposes the truth about hormones, health, and the human experience. More than a documentary, “BALANCE” is a call to awareness – an invitation for women, partners, and medical professionals to finally understand this profound and transformative stage of life – one that impacts over 85 million women in the U.S.
“We’ve spent our lives as monks seeking truth and living in balance, yet nothing prepared us for the physical and emotional shifts of perimenopause,” said Siddhali and Anubhuti. “What began as a personal quest quickly became a call to serve. As Jain monks, we hold ahimsa (non-violence) at the center of everything we do. Knowledge reduces suffering. It empowers people to understand their bodies and make informed, confident choices. ‘BALANCE’ was born from that intention. We want to bring clarity, compassion, and open conversation to a stage of life that has been pushed aside for far too long. Our hope is that every woman feels seen, supported, and steady in her own power.”
“All women go through perimenopause, yet there’s so much confusion, misinformation and isolation,” says Milano. “‘BALANCE’ shines a light on a stage of life that deserves real understanding and real compassion. This series gives women something they’ve been missing for far too long: information, knowledge and a much-needed sense of community.”
Mai adds, “Women talk about everything… until we reach perimenopause. The mood swings, hot flashes, brain fog – we’ve all been there, but almost no one speaks openly about it. Siddhali and Anubhuti open the door to honest, heartfelt conversations. I’m proud to be a part of something that empowers women and brings truth to a very real chapter of our lives.”
Featuring extraordinary physicians, researchers, and leading menopause experts including Dr. Mary Claire Haver, Dr. Louise Newson, Dr. Vonda Wright, Dr. Heather Hirsch, Dr. Sharon Malone, Dr. Rachel Rubin, Dr. Michelle Sands, Dr. Sameena Rahman, and others, “BALANCE” brings together some of the most trusted voices in women’s health. Their insight provides essential clarity on symptoms, hormones, misdiagnosis, treatment gaps, and the systemic barriers that have left generations of women uninformed and unsupported. These experts deepen the series’ mission to replace confusion with knowledge, silence with conversation, and isolation with community.
The series is produced by Siddhali, alongside co-producers Anubhuti, Zack Tzourtzouklis and Cesar Ramos-Ortiz. In addition to Milano and Mai, Acharya Shree Yogeesh, Bill Meyer, Linda Halbert, Jon Halbert, Heather Badal, Michael Cain, Stephanie Collins, Jeff Barstad, Tama Lundquist, Tena Lundquist Faust, and Marian McClendon serve as executive producers. Tzourtzouklis serves as editor and Ramos-Ortiz as director of photography. The score is composed by Andor Sperling, and Tamás Bohács serves as sound supervisor.
