Park Chan-wook’s latest film, No Other Choice, received a nine-minute standing ovation at the 82nd Venice Film Festival. Critics have praised the film, including Lee Byung Hun’s performance as You Man-su. Ahead of the film’s wide release, I sat down with Lee to talk about working with Director Park, finding that balance as Man-su, and more.

What is No Other Choice about?
Abruptly laid off after 25 years at the same company, a desperate man goes to extreme lengths to eliminate the competition for the job he wants. The film stars Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, and Park Hee-soon.
When does No Other Choice release?
The film hits theaters on Christmas Day with a wide release in January 2026.
Lee Byung Hun talks about bringing Park Chan-wook’s script to life.
I had the pleasure of sitting down with the incredibly talented Lee Byung-hun. We talked about how he doesn’t love looking at directors storyboards so that he can form the character he wants. Also, his thoughts about the duality of Man-su and the level of relatability of him. The film is quite great, and I definitely recommend checking it out when it hits theaters.
