(Los Angeles, CA – June 11, 2025) – The Critics Choice Association (CCA) announced today the nominees for the 5th annual Critics Choice Super Awards, honoring the most popular, fan-obsessed genres across both television and movies, including Superhero, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Horror, and Action. Winners will be revealed on CriticsChoice.com on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 9:00am PT.

“Deadpool & Wolverine” and “Thunderbolts*” lead this year’s film nominees, having earned six nominations each including Best Superhero Movie. Both Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds from “Deadpool & Wolverine” were recognized in the category of Best Actor in a Superhero Movie, while Emma Corrin and Jennifer Garner received nods for Best Actress in a Superhero Movie. Emma Corrin also is up for a second award, Best Villain in a Movie.

“Thunderbolts*” received nominations in the same categories, including nods for both David Harbour and Lewis Pullman for Best Actor in a Superhero Movie. Lewis Pullman is also up for Best Villain in a Movie, while Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Florence Pugh were both nominated for Best Actress in a Superhero Movie.

“The Last of Us” leads this year’s television nominees with 6 nominations overall including Best Superhero Series, Limited Series or Made-for-TV Movie and Best Horror Series, Limited Series or Made-for-TV Movie. Pedro Pascal received nods for both Best Actor in a Superhero Series, Limited Series or Made-for-TV Movie and Best Actor in a Horror Series, Limited Series or Made-for-TV Movie, while Bella Ramsey earned nominations for both Best Actress in a Superhero Series, Limited Series or Made-for-TV Movie and Best Actress in a Horror Series, Limited Series or Made-for-TV Movie. (Superhero categories also include Comic Book and Video Game Inspired series.)
