PorkRinds.com Celebrates Vanderbilt’s Randon Fontenette, an Unsung Hero of College Football, with the “Crunch Time Hero of the Week” Award

WHAT:

PorkRinds.com, the nation’s premiere “hub” for pork rind lovers everywhere, has announced the Week 6 winner of its 2^nd annual “Crunch Time Hero of the Week” campaign. Taking home the honor this week is sophomore, Randon Fontenette, linebacker for the Vanderbilt Commodores.

In the game against the University of Alabama, Fontenette’s first quarter interception resulted in a touchdown that swung the momentum in Vanderbilt’s favor. In addition to the interception, Brown recorded one assisted tackle for the Commodores and played a crucial role in their historic win over the number one ranked Crimson Tide.

At the halfway point of the college football season, six standout players from various teams have earned the prestigious Crunch Time Hero of the Week award. These athletes, representing universities in the ACC, Big 12, and SEC conferences, have been recognized for their Crunch Time plays and exceptional performances. The following players have been honored so far:

• Week 1: Dylan Stewart, freshman Defensive End, University of South Carolina
• Week 2: CJ Fite, sophomore Defensive Lineman, Arizona State University
• Week 3: Bradyn Swinson, senior Defensive End, Louisiana State University
• Week 4: Brandon Crossley, senior Safety, Southern Methodist University
• Week 5: Zabien Brown, freshman Defensive Back, University of Alabama
• Week 6: Randon Fontenette, sophomore Linebacker, Vanderbilt University

The “Crunch Time Hero of the Week” Award highlights outstanding plays by college football players during the regular season. Each week, a college football player who has a phenomenal play or a significant tackle during the 13-week regular season will be eligible for the “Crunch Time Hero of the Week” award.
