Jackpot, written by Rob Yescombe and directed by Paul Feig. The story follows Kate, played by Awkwafina, who moves to LA to become an actress. Kate accidentally enters a lottery and wins, but she soon discovers that in LA, it’s legal for anyone to kill the lottery winner within the first 24 hours to claim the prize. Noel, played by John Cena, steps in to protect Kate from getting killed, but will they be able to survive or escape LA in time?

The plot is fantastic and had me hooked from start to finish. I laughed a lot, and the action scenes skillfully blended comedy with fights. The cast has good chemistry, and Awkwafina delivers an excellent performance, showcasing a different side of her acting than her previous roles. Although I haven’t always been a fan of her work, I enjoyed her in this film. John Cena brings heart and emotional depth to his character. Despite his tough exterior, he convincingly portrays a younger, almost childlike character.

Jackpot is a fantastic, fun, action-packed comedy with a great cast, lots of heart, and a feel-good ending. The film also touches on real issues that adds depth to the story. 4 ⭐️
