September 1st:
The Equalizer 3 is the third film in the Equalizer franchise. It stars Denzel Washington in the lead and Dakota Danning, Eugenio Mastrandrea, and David Denman in the supporting cast. Antoine Fuqua is back as the director, just like screenwriter Richard Wenk.
The Good Mother stars Hilary Swank, Olivia Cooke, Jack Reynor, Hopper Penn, and Norm Lewis. It was written and directed by Miles Joris-Peyrafitte and written by Madison Harrison.
All Fun and Games is a horror film co-written and directed by Ari Costa and Eren Celeboglu and written by JJ Braider. The movie stars Natalia Dyer, Asa Butterfield, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Laurel Marsden, Kolton Stewart, and Annabeth Gish. Also, the film is a mere 76 minutes long.
Bottoms will be expanding into more theaters this weekend. Writer and director Emma Seligman’s anticipated follow-up to Shiva Baby reunites her with Rachel Sennott. It also stars Ayo Edebiri, Nicholas Galitzine, Havana Rose Liu, Kaia Gerber, Dagmara Dominczyk, Marshawn Lynch, and Miles Fowler. Rachel Sennott is also a screenwriter on this film, and Elizabeth Banks is a producer.
September 8th:
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 stars Nia Vardalos, John Corbett, Andrea Martin, Lainie Kazan, Elena Kampouris, Louis Mandylor, Joey Fatone, Stephanie Nur, Gia Carides and Daphne Alexander. It is written and directed by star Nia Vardalos. It was produced by Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.
The Nun II is directed by Michael Chaves and written by Akela Goldberg, Ian Goldberg, and Richard Naing. It was produced by horror director James Wan. Taissa Farmiga, Bonnie Aarons, Anna Popplewell, and Katelyn Rose Downey star in the film.
El Conde is the most recent film from esteemed Chilean director Pablo Larraín. He is also the writer with Guillermo Calderon. It is a horror-satire film about former Chilean president Augusto Pinochet. It will premiere first at the Venice Film Festival before a limited theatrical release this weekend. It will then be released on Netflix on September 15th. It stars Alfredo Castro, Antonia Zegers, Paula Luchinger, Amparo Noguera and Gloria Münchmeyer.
September 15th:
A Haunting in Venice is the third Hercule Poirot film starring and directed by Kenneth Branagh. It also stars Jamie Dornan, Tina Fey, Jude Hill, Ali Khan, Emma Laird, Kelly Reilly, Riccardo Scamarcio, Kyle Allen, and Michelle Yeoh. It is written by Michael Green and adapted from the Agatha Christie novel of the same name. It is releasing wide this weekend.
Camp Hideout stars Corbin Blue, Ethan Drew, Amanda Leighton, and Christopher Lloyd. It is directed by Sean Olson and written by Kat Olson, C. Neil Davenport, and Dave Deborde. It will be released in a limited fashion.
Cassandro is written by David Teague, Julián Herbet, and Roger Ross Williams. He is also the director. Gael Garcia Bernal stars as Saúl Armendáriz, a gay amateur wrestler who makes his mark on the world of wrestling, and it is based on a true story. It also stars Roberta Colindrez, Peria De La Rosa, Joaquin Cosio, and Raul Castillo.
The Inventor is an animated film starring Stephen Fry as Leonardo da Vinci, Daisy Ridley, Marion Cotillard, Matt Berry, and Gauthier Battoue. It is directed by Jim Capobianco and Pierre-Luc Granjon and written by Capobianco, who also wrote Ratatouille.
The film Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe was written and directed by Aitch Alberto. The film stars Max Pelayo, Reese Gonzales, Eugenio Derbez, and Eva Longoria. It premiered last year at the Toronto Film Festival.
September 22nd:
The Expend4bles is the fourth film in the Expendables franchise. It has a large ensemble cast that includes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Dolph Lundgren, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Randy Couture, Jacob Scipio, Levy Tran, and Andry Garcia. It is directed by Scott Waugh and written by Spenser Cohen, Max Adams, and Tad Daggerhart.
It Lives Inside follows the story of an Indian teenager who wants to fit in with everyone at school. When a mythological creature connected to her ethnicity starts wreaking havoc, she cannot avoid it any further. It stars Megan Suri, Neeru Bajwa, Mohana Krishnan, Betty Gabriel, Gage Marsh, and Vik Sahay. It is directed by Bishal Dutta and written by Dutta and Ashish Mehta. The distributor is Neon, who has an interim agreement with SAG-AFTRA and the WGA.
Flora and Son is written and directed by John Carney and stars Eve Hewson, Orén Kinlan, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. This will be in a limited theatrical release this weekend and stream on Apple TV+ on September 29th.
September 29th:
The Creator stars John David Washington, Ken Watanabe, Marc Menchaca, Sturgill Simpson, Allison Janney, Danny McBride, Gemma Chan, and Benedict Wong. It is written and directed by Gareth Edwards, known for his previous direction of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. He also worked in visual effects, so this should be a feast for those who love that aspect of filmmaking.
Saw X is the 10th film of the franchise. It is directed by Kevin Greutert and written by Peter Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg. The film stars Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, Steven Brand, Synnøve Macody Lund, Renata Vaca, Paulette Hernandez, and Octavio Hinojosa.
PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie is directed by Cal Brunker and written by Bob Barlen and Cal Brunker. The film stars Finn Lee-Epp, Ron Pardo, Mckenna Grace, Christian Convery, Taraji P. Henson, Marsau Martin, James Marsden, Kristen Bell, Dax Shepherd, Iain Armitage, Kim Kardashian, Tyler Perry, Lil Rel Howrey, Chris Rock, Yara Shahidi, Serena Williams, Alan Kim and Jimmy Kimmel.
Fair Play is written and directed by Chloe Domont and stars Phoebe Dynebor, Alden Ehrenreich, Eddie Marsan, and Rich Sommer. This premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. It will be in limited release in theaters this week and then released on Netflix on October 13th.
Dicks the Musical is an A24 film, which is a studio with an interim agreement with SAG-AFTRA and WGA. It was written by Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp and directed by Larry Charles. It stars Nathan Lane, Megan Mullally, Bowen Yang, and Megan Thee Stallion.

Sitting in Bars with Cakes is directed by Trish Sie and written by Audrey Shulman. It stars Odessa A’zion, Martha Kelly, Ron Livingston, and Bette Midler. It will be streaming on Amazon Prime on September 8th.
Love at First Sight is a rom-com starring Haley Lu Richardson, Ben Hardy, Dexter Fletcher, Rob Delaney, Sally Phillips, Jameela Jamil, and Dexter Fletcher. It is directed by Vanessa Caswill and written by Katie Lovejoy. It will be streaming on Netflix on September 15th.
The film A Million Miles Away was written by Bettina Gilois, Hernán Jiménez, and director Alejandra Márquez Abella. It stars Michael Peña, Rosa Salazar, Sarayu Blue, Verónica Falcón, Julio Cesar Cedillo, and Garret Dillahunt. It will be released on September 15th on Amazon Prime.
Spy Kids: Armageddon stars Gina Rodriguez, Zachary Levi, Everly Carganilla, Connor Esterson, DJ Cotrona, and Billy Magnussen. It was written and directed by Robert Rodriguez and written by Racer Max. It will be streaming on Netflix on September 22nd.
Re-Releases:
Christine is a film by horror director John Carpenter. Bill Phillips adapted the screenplay from a Stephen King story. It was released in 1983 and starred John Stockwell, Kelly Preston, Harry Dean Stanton, Robert Prosky, Alexandra Paul, Roberts Blossom, and Keith Gordon. It will be released by Fathom Events on September 10th.
Rain Man stars Dustin Hoffman, Tom Cruise, Valeria Golino, Gerald R. Molen, Jack Murdock, Michael D. Roberts, Ralph Seymour, Lucinda Jenney and Bonnie Hunt. It is directed by Barry Levinson and written by Ronald Bass and Barry Morrow. It will be released by Fathom Events on September 17th.
Barbie is the highest-grossing movie of 2023. It will be released in IMAX theaters on September 22nd.
