Week 5 of the NFL Season comes to a close tonight in Los Angeles. The Bills are in town to battle the Rams, and it should be a fun matchup. I have a full preview below, but first let’s consider what else we learned from Week 5 of the NFL Season.

Marvin Harrison, Jr., starts over

After weeks of speculation, Harrison is finally free. Well, freeish. He’s been traded to the Houston Texans, who at 1-4 could use a lift, especially on offense. Nico Collins is a great No. 1 option, but the Texans have struggled to cultivate other targets. Harrison needs a fresh start and a better place. Reuniting with C.J. Stroud should be a good way to see if he can look more like the player that earned the No. 4 overall selection in the draft.

Drake Maye is back

It looked bad for Maye after three weeks ending in a beat down at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars. But Maye bounced back a bit with a win in Buffalo in Week 4. In Week 5, he looked like the player who was the runner up for the NFL MVP. He tossed four touchdowns and rushed for a fifth as the Patriots moved to 3-2 with a 45-17 win over the Raiders. And now he’s on the cusp of getting A.J. Brown back in the lineup. Watch out as the Patriots are heating up at the right time.

The Chargers are cooked

The Chargers, who won 11 games the last two years and made the playoffs, are now 0-5. The offensive line is a mess thanks to injuries. The team’s top receivers are all injured. And the schedule doesn’t get any easier. The team is at the Chiefs, at the Rams, home for the Texans, and at the Ravens the next four weeks. It’s hard to say when the Chargers will finally win a game.

And now, on to Monday Night Football.

Buffalo Bills (3-1) at Los Angeles Chargers (2-2)

This could be a Super Bowl Preview. With Josh Allen, the Bills are one of the contenders in the AFC. They’re also coming off a tough loss to the Patriots and looking to get another win. The Rams, meanwhile, came in as heavy favorites. They have a loaded roster, but it’s been an uneven start. They also need a big win.

For the Bills, Allen is a QB1. It’s been a rough couple weeks, but he’s a threat on the ground and in the air. I like James Cook as a low-end RB1, too. In the passing game, it’s been a bit of a gamble. D.J. Moore is still banged up and Dalton Kincaid has been inconsistent. I still like Moore and Khalil Shakir as flex options, and Kincaid as a TE2 with upside. I also like Keon Coleman as a deep league flex with upside.

For the Rams, it’s a pretty narrow funnel. I like Matthew Stafford as a QB2 with upside. He should rebound from a middle Week 4. In the backfield, Kyren Williams is an RB2 with upside while Blake Corum is a flex option. In the passing game, I like Puka Nacua as a WR1. I also like Davante Adams to bounce back from a down week to be a WR2.

I’m taking the Rams in a close game that should be some fun.
