The NFL Season is nearly upon us. The season kicks off on Wednesday, September 9. Between now and then, we’ll be previewing all 32 NFL Teams along with playoff picks. One team will be previewed each day, beginning with the Super Bowl-winning Seahawks and ending with the New York Jets. Check back each day for the next installment!

The Giants were something of a disaster in 2025. The team won just four games and fired Brian Daboll mid-season. But, at times, they were a fun disaster. That was thanks to rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart and rookie running back Cam Skattebo, both of whom also struggled with injuries. With John Harbaugh at the helm and a new offensive staff, the Giants are hoping for better in 2026. Let’s dive in.

Off-Season Changes

With a new set of coaches, there were plenty of changes among the players. Wan’Dale Robinson, who had more than 1,000 yards in 2025, headed out for Tennessee. The same for veteran tight end Daniel Bellinger, both reuniting with Daboll. The turnover also included the offensive line, where Austin Schlottman, Greg Van Rotten, and James Hudson all departed. So, too, did kicker Jason Sanders.

The Giants also added veterans and rookies to bolster both sides of the ball. Defensively the team added Tremaine Edmunds, Shelby Harris, D.J. Reader, and Greg Newsome. They also drafted edge Arvell Reese in the First Round of the NFL Draft. On offense, the team re-loaded with veteran Najee Harris in the backfield and Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin at receiver. Austin is already injured and will miss the season. The Giants added Malachi Fields to the receiver group in the draft. The Giants also added veteran tight end Isaiah Likely, who played for Harbaugh with the Ravens.

Fantasy Impact

The Giants have talent and upside, but plenty of questions. Dart showed some promise on the field but struggled with injuries. He is a risk, and I’m not sold on the new offensive staff. He’s a QB2 with upside but also some big downside. If you snag him, I’d have a backup plan, too. In the backfield, the same goes with Skattebo. He returns with Tyrone Tracy and Devin Singletary, and now veteran Harris. It’s an interesting committee that has potential and no clear alpha. Skattebo is an RB2 when he plays, but he’s an injury risk, too. I’m not comfortable relying on Tracy, Singletary, or Harris.

In the passing game, you’d like to be excited about Malik Nabers. But the question is when he’ll return, and how long it takes him to return to form. He’s got WR1 upside, but he’s probably a WR2 this season. I would have other options the first few weeks. There is no other Giants’ receiver I trust at this point. At tight end, Theo Johnson showed upside as a rookie, but Likely now saps all that. Likely is a TE2 for me.

Prediction

As you might have guessed from the above, I like the potential on the Giants’ roster, but I don’t trust them, nor do I like the coaching staff. That puts them in an interesting category of teams you can’t avoid but also can’t rely upon. I think the Giants are likely still the fourth-place team in the NFC East and out of the playoffs.
