This week we get the new horror movie Over Your Dead Body in theaters. The film stars Jason Segel, who is best known for a different kind of film. In honor of its release, this week’s Binge looks at some of Segel’s previous films. The films appear in chronological order.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)
About
: This film was written by Segel. It was kind of a cinematic coming out party for a guy who was popular on the small screen. It’s a daring and amusing film that remains a classic nearly 20 years later.

I Love You, Man (2009)
About
: This is a fun buddy comedy, of sorts, featuring Segel alongside Paul Rudd. This is a fun and sometimes awkward comedy.

The Muppets (2011)
About
: I grew up with a love for the Muppets. Segel did, too, so when he got a chance to bring them back to the foreground of pop culture he did. This was a natural progression for anyone who saw the plot of Forgetting Sarah Marshall. This is a fun film.

Sex Tape (2014)
About
: This comedy is about a couple who decide to spice things up by making a special tape—that then gets out. Segel and Cameron Diaz are great in this film. I love the back-and-forth, and I enjoy the comedy in this film.

Windfall (2022)
About:
This is a different kind of film for Segel, but maybe an entry to where he’s going with his latest film. This is a crime drama, or sorts. It’s a different kind of role for Segel, but it was a good film with a good performance opposite Jesse Plemons and Lilly Collins.
