At the beginning of 2020, Parasite won Best Picture, and after that, COVID broke the movie slate and changed things forever, starting with the fact that I was scheduled to see a press screening of Quiet Place 2 on March 16th, and everything shut down. I am still mad about this one as several hundred people have seen that film, and I could have been one of them.
As we close the door on 2020, it’s time to look ahead at the films I hope to see in 2021.
Quiet Place 2
The first one was one of the best theatrical experiences I’ve ever had. I am really looking forward to the sequel and what Krasinski has in store for us.
Judas and the Black Messiah
You had me at soon to be Oscar winner Daniel Kaluuya, and throw in LaKeith Stanfield and a story that is powerful, this will be a factor in the 2021 Oscar race.
CANDYMAN
One of my most anticipated films of 2020 and since it didn’t come out, it arrives on this list. I CAN’T WAIT FOR THIS!
Dune
Denis Villeneuve is one of the best directors in Hollywood and any time his name is attached to anything at all, I need to see it. ‘Dune’ looks remarkable and I can’t wait to watch this in THEATERS.
Fast and Furious 9
Look, I am a sucker for this franchise and I am not ashamed to admit it one bit. I am excited to see John Cena added to the squad as well.
What are your most anticipated films of the year?
