Seriously Red Movie Review

We have a brand new movie that follows a realtor chasing a new career as a Dolly Parton impersonator in Seriously Red. The film was written by Krew Boylan, who also stars alongside Daniel Webber, Rose Byrne, and Bobby Cannavale. Is it worth checking out? I am sharing my review with you below.

Director: Gracie Otto
Writer: Krew Boylan
Stars: Krew Boylan, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale,
Synopsis: A realtor pursues a new career as a Dolly Parton impersonator.

Seriously Red is a fun little movie highlighted by some fantastic performances. You have some very funny, quick-witted one-liners that will have you laughing, but what writer Krew Boylan impressed me with the most was the film’s heart. I was very much invested in Red’s journey from the beginning, as the story’s structure made it easy to root for her and what was ahead. Who doesn’t love a good inspirational story that sees someone chasing their dreams?

Speaking of Boylan, not only did she pen this delightful script, but she gave a fantastic performance as Red. She is this entire film, so every aspect of this movie relies on her selling this story to us, and she did that and more. With this being her feature film writing debut, you knew it would be personal for her, and you felt that as she oozed comedy, empathy, and some damn good singing chops.

Overall, Seriously Red is a fun little movie worth renting on VOD or purchasing. Outside of Boylan, you have some fun turns from the always-underrated Bobby Cannavale and the delightful Rose Byrne, who is hilarious as Elvis Presley. It’s funny and heartwarming, and the music will keep you singing along.
